This Season’s Music

Welcome to our programme for 2012/13, which offers highlights from several centuries of church music. As a splendid opening to the season, we are presenting a Festival of Psalms in November with works by Bernstein, Rutter and Elgar. At our Carol Concerts in Exeter Cathedral in December the renowned brass quintet Triumph Brass will provide extra seasonal sparkle. Our season continues in March 2013 with the moving sounds of Brahms’ majestic choral work Ein deutsches Requiem and in May we conclude the season with a glorious Baroque concert including works by Vivaldi, Pergolesi and Handel. We warmly invite you to enjoy this display of musical masterpieces.

We look forward to welcoming you to our concerts.

Exeter Philharmonic Choir has performed concerts in the City every year since its foundation in 1846. It continues to delight audiences with its performances of both well loved and lesser known works under Andrew Millington, Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral and the Choir’s current Director of Music. The Choir is joined in its performances by professional players, including the Sinfonietta led by Richard Studt, and delights in welcoming up-and-coming soloists to its performances.
